Our mission

Our mission is to help curb the overpopulation of companion animals in San Miguel de Allende, thereby helping to eliminate the fear, pain, suffering and misery of homeless animals.

To carry out our mission, first and foremost, we provide low cost sterilizations of dogs and cats to low income pet owners at our major blitzes and at our Mobile Clinic sites.  We make every effort to teach, inform, and instruct our clients in the care and respectful treatment of animals.

Since its inception in 2001 Amigos de Animales has spayed and neutered 18,000 dogs and cats. Congratulations to Arno Naumann for founding Amigos in 2001 and continuing to serve as President until 2015,  the other vets and vet techs who have worked with us, to our Board members past and present, to our volunteers, to our donors, and to all those who have supported us in various ways over the years.
You can all take credit for potentially hundreds of thousands of animals not being born to abuse, hunger and suffering on the streets and ranchos of San Miguel de Allende.
